  1. We invite you to attend the first-ever book event in West Alabama where the community can join local authors and book lovers for addresses, panel discussions and readings. The event will celebrate writing, honor book culture, and promote reading and literacy. Also addressed will be the practical concerns of getting published. Should you be interested in participating please feel free to respond to this email stating how you would like to participate.

    • We would love to have more authors – especially on panels – ideally all panels would have 3-4 authors so spread the word!
    • All authors/organizations listed will be provided a table and chair(s) for their book selling/signings for the day.
    • All monies received from book selling go to the authors.
    • Sales tax on books sold will be collected from each author at the close of the event. This is mandatory. Authors/Organizations will be provided with three envelopes for city, state, and county tax with instructions on how to calculate for each envelope. See attachment please.
    • Venue has Wi Fi should you be utilizing card swipe access on your phone or other device.
    • Please note lunch can be pre-ordered – menu/prices will be available closer to date
    • Please bring your own supply of books to the event if you wish to sell

We would love to send you more information about our group and the event.
    Sincerely,
    Books to Prisons Project members
