Every time I hear that song, I go back

In light of yesterday’s thrice-updated blog, today I offer you the latest in blogging trends…

Feeling depressed: “Painting Pictures of Egypt” by Sara Groves
Christmas time: “Sing Mary Sing” by Jennifer Knapp
Falling asleep: “Daylight” by Alison Krauss + Union Station
Closing song: “Every Season” by Nichole Nordeman

A couple of notes:
Alisa: You know that has to be my “falling in love” song, ’cause every time I so much as mention a guy, you mention that song… 🙂 Someday, it’ll be fully appropriate!
Megan: Five – count ’em, five – songs by Christian artists. Where are my points?
Some of these songs may not seem to make sense with the categories. I can elaborate if there’s confusion… but I assure you, they make sense to me. 🙂

I think I know why you are single. “Spit on a Stranger” is your song for flirting. 🙂

  2. 😀 But I LIKE it!

    “Honey I’m a prize and you’re a catch and we’re a perfect match… like two bitter strangers.”

    That’s so me.

  3. Oh, I whole heartly agree with “Winter’s Ending”. Id probably put it down myself! But as “Painting Pictures of Egypt” as a depression song rubbed me the wrong way.

  4. It’s not that the song is depressing, but it fits those depressed moods. It’s a sort of unhappy-in-the-middle song; I’m not happy where I am, but I know that going back to where I came wouldn’t do me any good, either. So I’m gonna keep pressing on and God is gonna take care of me… even though it doesn’t feel so good right now.

Michaela picked the same first date song as you and she is still trying to get over the shock. It is like you two are twins or something!

  6. I am proud of you friend, though I’d like to see you exapnd your horizons into new artists. :o) Oh, and I thought for sure that your “acting goofy with friends” would have to be “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” haha.
